dust in the carpet, glue paper, wood panel
Teheran, Iran
2007

in Tehran, the capital of Iran. I visited the houses and cleaned the carpet with a carpet cleaner (adhesive tape roller) that I had brought from Japan. I guess they don’t use rollers much, they were suspicious of when I told them I wanted to clean it up with this. Some people were also told me that they vacuumed their house every day so it wasn’t dirty, but when I rolled the cleaner, they were surprised to find hair and dust on it (I’m like a salesperson…). The dust on the surface of that adhesive tape is different for each carpet. Slightly reddish or yellow. In a house with dirt feet, naturally, dirt dust will stick to it. I pieced together the carpet surfaces of the homes of the people I met to create “everyone’s carpet”.
